In the Air

More than 20 hours flying, add about 8 in airports, so quite a while traveling. We’re happy that connections were good and planes as comfortable as could be expected.

Aboard the new Boeing 787 Dreamliner was great for long-haul flight. One feature I never anticipated was the electrochromic dimmable windows. We followed the sun, which was out our port window nearly the entire trip. After ascent, unnoticed at first, the cabin had taken a calming blue/green tint as the crew adjusted the amount and color of light. Just had to pull out a camera as we flew over upper Alaska.
