Observations on the road to Queenstown
The guide book says this about New Zealand: population 4.5 million people, 40 million sheep. I believe it!
Driving through Red Tussock Conservation Area: The Hills are alive with. tribbles?
The great thing about having a toilet in our camper-van is that anytime you need a toilet, you have one right with you. The bad thing is that anytime you don't need a toilet, you still have one right with you.
I have learned that when I see on a map that a road is named Highcliff, that's probably because it runs along a HIGH cliff.
In that same vein, I have decided that if I just weren't so afraid to die, I would enjoy the drive a whole lot more.
We have noticed that when you have gone past something you want to photograph and you turn around to go back, it's very easy to end up driving on the wrong side of the road.
If you do something silly like bringing rabbits to a country where there is no natural predator, you can actually make the situation worse by introducing an unnatural predator (stoats) that also likes to eat the eggs and young chicks of (now) endangered penguins.
Living in a camper van is a little like being in one of those games where you have to keep moving tiles around to get the one colored tile from one corner to the opposite corner. If one thing is shifted, everything else must be shifted accordingly, including people.
Mr. Onebag.com really know what he's talking about.
